Important information regarding the contacts and business relationships that you make through the B2B MARKET PLACE, keep in mind that:

  1. PROCOLOMBIA accompanies companies with the purpose of facilitating business opportunities between exporters and buyers, without intervening in purchase and/or sale decisions, therefore, the contractual and legal responsibility of commercial negotiations falls directly on the companies that carried out the commercial transaction (exporter and buyer).
  2. Although PROCOLOMBIA carries out a preliminary investigation of the companies as part of its work methodology and commercial management, this process does not constitute any guarantee of compliance in the negotiations between the parties, for this reason it is recommended that both the exporter and the buyer carry out their own validations and protect their commercial operations with the mechanisms available in international trade regulations.
  3. The relationship between PROCOLOMBIA and the companies in Colombia and abroad, is generated through trust and the experience acquired from previous actions; however, such companies may present situations that could lead to possible breaches, without these being the responsibility of PROCOLOMBIA, which is why both exporters and buyers must ensure that they use secure negotiation tools, seek advice from experts to assess commercial risks and formalize the contractual documents that may be necessary to shield their conversations.
  4. ProColombia will in no case be responsible for the information of the companies and/or products available on this platform since it is filled out completely by each one of the companies.

Livestock Sector in Colombia

The livestock sector in Colombia is a set of activities for managing animal species for man's benefit. It is carried out for various purposes: production of fresh meat, fur, wool, feathers, hair, a raw material for cosmetics, and the handling of pack animals or for work.

According to Camilo Herrera Mora, economist, and president of Raddar Consumer Knowledge Group, "the livestock sector in Colombia is fundamental for the national economy since 95% consume at least one of these proteins once a day. The agricultural suppliers have penetration in the homes greater than television, and without a doubt, it has three times more users than Rappi".

Even more, the purchase of products from livestock in Colombia has shown a rapid increase due to the isolation of Covid-19. According to Herrera, before isolation, livestock products represented 9.9% of household spending (February 2020). In March, the figure was already 11.8%. "This is one of the categories that grew the most in the supply phase," says the consumer and marketing expert.

Along with Herrera, Camilo Montes, executive director of the Andi Food Chamber, explains that consumption of meat cuts and its derivatives rose to 12 billion pesos in Colombian households, registering a growth from January 2020 to March 2020 of 13.88% representing a 7.05% share of household spending.

The livestock sector in Colombia is a vast representation of its heritage. One can assume that the rapid awakening of the industry in 2020 is due to the isolation and the change for a more home-based diet. Meat suppliers and livestock agriculture will grow non-stop in Colombia because it is part of our rich environment and culture.
