This Fruit can be eaten raw as
dessert, cakes and salads. Also used
to make jams, yogurt, ice cream,
preserves, liqueurs and sauces for
meat dishes. Also consumed as
dried raisins.
Physalis is a round fruit, yelloworange
with 1.5 to 2.5 cm diameter
approximately and a weight of 5 to
7g.
Characterized as an excellent
source of provitamin A and vitamin
C as well as some of the vitamin B
complex In addition the protein
(0.3%) and phosphorus (55%)
content exceptionally high for a
fruit.
