Our history
THE "PILONERA"
From Tití's kitchen window one could see, in the patio, the youngest women of the hacienda grinding sweet peppers and spices in a wooden massive mortar as old as the hacienda itself "EL PILÓN".
The happiest of them, a green-eyed mulatto woman known to all as "La Pilonera", was in charge of directing the mill, while she told the others how that old mortar had been made from one of the enormous branches of the Araguaney tree, which many generations ago, had the hacienda named after it.
That ancient Araguaney tree, still standing, continued to stand out in the center of the chili pepper fields, and could be seen in the distance.
Bachaca Foods is a tribute to those women who have fed so many generations. This dream was born with the commitment to bring to every corner of the world the mixture of colors, flavors and textures of a recipe that is more than 50 years old.
