Our history
the company C.I. La Samaria S.A.S., dedicated for more than 20 years in providing the markets with a product whose benefits, taste, texture and aroma arise from a production system that is harmonised in its production practices with the natural environment which is part of the delicate post-harvesting process.
Beyond our advanced production units, our farms have established criteria for organic agro-ecosystems, in which, we have been able to integrate conservation productivity work. We have about 200 hectares of forest, home to over 50 species of native flora and fauna coexisting with 900 hectares of cavendish banana, providing conditions that create a natural control of pests and diseases of fruit, climate regulation, protection of springs and water channels, among other environmental services.
The post-harvest tasks is fundamental to deliver a healthy, clean and fresh banana, from start a careful screening and selection in made, so that the market will only get the best of our harvest. These are packaged in recyclable boxes and plastic bags after receiving an organic treatment necessary to prevent the incidence of any microorganisms to develop that may threaten the quality.
From the social point of view, respect for all form of life is what, in principle and conviction, motivates us to provide to our human capital, to every man and woman in our company, the possibility that the work environment is a dignified option in life. C.I. La Samaria S.A.S. is a source of work for over 800 agricultural workers in the rural areas of the District of Santa Marta and Riohacha, capitals of the departments of Magdalena and La Guajira, respectively, and the municipality of Dibulla (La Guajira).
