Nutritional Yeast is a type of inactive yeast (i.e. it is left to ferment, harvested, then washed,
pasteurized and dried). Unlike brewer's yeast, Nutritional Yeast is not the residue of any fermented
product or beverage manufacturing process.
Nutritional Yeast is considered a food supplement, due to its
great contribution of proteins with high biological value, as well
as vitamins, fiber and minerals. Its flavor and texture are
reminiscent of cheese. That is why it is so popular in vegan
cuisine.
Nutritional yeast (saccharomyces cerevisiae) is an inactive

is often used to emulate the flavor of cheese in vegan
preparations, as well as to thicken sauces and dressings. It is also used for gratinating delicious pasta
dishes or sprinkling salads, adding to soups and smoothies
