Fetal Bovine Serum - Sterile
It is a reddish-amber liquid component of the blood of bovine fetuses subjected to fractionation by centrifugation. It is used biotechnologically or in the life sciences in a state of sterility, as the essential supplement to cell culture media because of its low level of antibodies that would restrain cell growth and its high level of fetal factors that maximize it. Its uses range from the manufacture of human and animal vaccines, oncological interferons and biopharmaceuticals in general, as in the preservation of organs prior to their transfer, in vitro fertilization and human and animal embryo transfer, as in the diagnosis of paternity, cytopathology, etc.
