Physalis is an exotic fruit native to the South American Andes. It is small, round, semi-acid, and orange fruit with a diameter between 1,25 and 2,5 cm and a weight between 4 g and 10 g. It has strong nutritional properties, because it is a source of several vitamins, including vitamins A and C. Physalis can be used to prepare salads, ice cream, yogurt, glazes and cocktails. Its high pectin content makes it ideal for jams and sauces.
